John R. (Bob) Capes
Bob graduated from Wofford College in 1956 with a degree in Business
Administration. After a brief stay in the Army, Bob was employed by
Southern Bell in the Traffic Department for eight years. Bob joined Tom
Jenkins Realty where he remained until 1965 before organizing Bob Capes Realty.
Bob Capes Realty eventually acquired a Century 21 franchise and became
Century 21 Bob Capes Realtors. In 2001, Bob sold his remaining interest in
Century 21 Bob Capes Realtors to his longtime partner James W. Derrick,
Jr. In 1998, Bob organized Bob Capes Property Management along with two
partners. Bob is currently licensed with Bob Capes Property Management
and Sales, and remains very active in the operations of the company. Bob
was the 1994 Realtor of the year. Bob said that he has always enjoyed
representing Buyers and Sellers; as well as, bringing new agents into the
business and watching them prosper.
Jana Carter
Jana Carter has specialized in real estate listing & sales, property
management and investment properties for over two decades. Growing up in
Andrews, SC, Jana moved to the Columbia area to earn her BA in Business
Administration from Columbia College. Since then, she has given 24 years
of service to Bob Capes Property Management, Inc. Her ongoing
commitment to real estate has earned her the role as an owner of
Bob Capes Property Management, Inc. Jana lives in Chapin, SC on beautiful
Lake Murray with her husband Terrell Carter, her son Chase, and Polly -
her black Labrador. She is also blessed to have 2 children and 6
grandchildren through marriage. When you are an informed buyer or
